Malbec, Rocamadre
Malbec, Rocamadre
Argentina - Red Wine - Malbec - Natural - Medium Body
Paraja Alamira vineyard culminates at 1100 meters above see level and qualify as an high altitude vineyard. Acidities, therefore freshness are respected and the alluvial soils allow such drainage that growing organic grapes there allow to get the most of the place with limited risks. Rocky soil , whole bunch maceration and no new oak for this Malbec. Only used barrels for aging and concrete to preserve the integrity of the wine.
TASTING NOTE
The Malbec expresses notes of fresh blackberries, cherries, black currants, peppercorns, smoke, walnut shells, hot stones, dried leaves and plenty of dried bushes and baking spices too. The palate is extremely refined and silky with velvety tannins. The volume is impressive here and coats the entire palate right away. It’s so vibrant and bright with a peppery character that cannot be missed. Fruity and layered with a super-fine grained texture and a more stony, savory character towards the finish. Long and persitent the aftertaste develops with a tunnel-like expression that brings back all the character of this wine. So authentic and transparent, this Malbec hides nothing to our greatest pleasure. A hidden gem for now but for how long ?
ABOUT THE WINERY
Juanfa Suarez is an artist in both sense of the word. Musician and winegrower, he is part of a four generation long story in the high moutains of Mendoza. Nowadays he takes care of the family winery, Finca Suarez as well as Rocamadre, the craft, natural project he started in 2017 with his wife Cecilia Duran, herself an architect and researcher. Rocamadre, their professional baby - they had a beautiful little Pedro on their own - is here to capture the elements that surround them, the mountains, the sun, the snow and the stones in the wines and provide a unique expression of these mountain-grown grapes. The labels also reflects this philosophy and the wines are made as naturally as possible.

Recommendations
Recommendations
We love it young, it doesnt need any decanting, let it develop in the glass. It can easily age and provide more complexity after a couple years, it has the potential for that.
